ABOUT
Prince Edward Island may be known for its red sandy beaches and Lucy Maud Montgomery's compelling tales of Anne of Green Gables, but it has also been holding onto one of Canadian country music's best-kept secrets and rising exports.
At 26, Ben Chase has just begun leaving his mark on the scene. Featured on some of Spotify Canada and Apple Music Canada's most prominent playlists, Ben has already surpassed 3 million global streams, topped the Canadian iTunes charts with #1 songs twice, delivered multiple top 100 songs to Canadian country radio, and been the recipient of several industry awards and nominations. On stage, his energy has brought him to The Calgary Stampede, The Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, and Country Thunder Alberta, where he’s been a direct opener for Dan and Shay, Sam Hunt, Dustin Lynch, Zach Bryan, Zac Brown, Clay Walker, Sawyer Brown, and Brett Kissel.
Born and raised on Prince Edward Island where he discovered country music, Ben left for Alberta to spend four years living, performing, and releasing his own original music. As a 2019 finalist in Project WILD, Ben’s time in the artist development-minded music competition helped to solidify his artistic pursuits and level up in his abilities and ambitions.
Following a win for Fans’ Choice at the 2020 Country Music Alberta Awards, Ben made the full time move to Nashville to tread new industry ground, while still making music that is relatable to his lifestyle and small-town roots.
His first two Nashville singles – 2023’s "Call Me Drunk” and “Fading” – earned him the cover of Apple Music’s “Canada's Country” Playlist in February and helped him pass 1 million streams on the platform in April. His follow-up single – “Small Town Talking” – gained additional Apple editorial support and netted him the cover of Amazon Music Canada’s “Just North of Nashville” playlist, while the accompanying music video was featured by CMT.com and added in rotation by CMT Australia.
Now fully immersed in Music City as a consummate live entertainer, Ben’s high-energy shows and emphasis on crowd engagement have made him welcome in Nashville where he’s made musical stops at The Listening Room, Whiskey Jam, and The Bluebird Café among others.
With this new single – “Saltwater Cowboy” – dropping ahead of his debut album – “That was Then, This is Now” – in September, Ben is poised to put his stamp on Nashville’s country music scene with his Canadian blend of raw talent, authentic songwriting, and passion for performance leading the way.
